In this spread, For this spread, I wanted him to be utterly defeated. When I created this book, I used a lot of my own reflections from my past to create this character. I deeply regretted leaving my mother at that moment, as it was the last time I was ever going to see her. I regretted not saying I love you enough, but making this book, I felt like I had gained a certain acceptance of those choices. We cannot change what we did, but we can at least forgive ourselves for it.
